why does the loop sometimes appear at the bottom of buddypress WordPress

I have a buddypress install on my domain, along with custom taxonomies. I have a strange issue where sometimes I see the wp loop appearing at the bottom of buddypress pages. I have made sure there are no taxanomy and archive specific pages in the theme theme and it is strictly just a twentytwelve install with no extras.
The buddypress groups have the same names as taxanomy items and they are filtering as such, for example in the link below its listing the retail banks I have in my employers custom type. you can also see it on the employers tab, but strangely not the overview

any idea what might be causing this?
