jQuery Toggle down/ Hide Search like Twenty Fourteen theme WordPress

  • SOLVED

I'm having some issues with implementing a jQuery toggle down/ hide search in my Genesis child theme.

I've taken it out of the site for now, but the site is - [[LINK href="http://webhost-solutions.net/diyp/"]]http://webhost-solutions.net/diyp/[[/LINK]]

The site-header already has a jquery to scroll a a fixed area.

On the same line as the logo are suppose to be 3 widgets (and yes, I've got the PHP Widget plugin installed.) 2 custom menus, and then the search icon. (Attached is an image alongside my notations in red on what I need.)

The search icon upon clicking will have a search appear under it. From what I've seen of the code in the Twenty Fourteen theme including the jquery, this is somewhat of a toggle method.

If the solution means that you need access to work with my theme, let me know and I'll make it happen.

this is somewhat done... the styling needs to be done as well. And you don't need FTP access to do the style for the form so I'm not sure why you asked for it. And also, the code is in the wrong widget area.... it has to be in the right header widget.

Is the problem solved, Nile ? I could look at that if you want. Send me your access please, in this case.

Yes, I do need help. Sarbartha carried this up with the difference I originally had with the jQuery.. so Ill award him $5 of this.

Now that it's kind of working, the styling needs put in place. It's now in the correct widget and I've placed the search icon within the CSS.

After this question, I'll be submitting another one for responsive tweaks, so you might be interested in that when that comes up.

I've sent the WP logins to you via PM.

Awesome. I will finish some of the rest of the styling to match, but the functionality is there and 98% of the styling. Thank you again Sebastien. :)
