And yes SSL is required if you are creating a separate page tab. For content posted on the main feed, its not a requirement.

I think the official plugin from facebook isn't easy to setting up. You can also use "NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster", but I prefer the first one.

1. Have your Google Feedburner account. http://feedburner.google.com/
2. Connect your wordpress site/blog with Twitter account. Read This -> http://adsenseforfeeds.blogspot.in/2009/12/socializing-your-feed-with-twitter.html
3. Then connect your Twitter account with Facebook. This will auto-post to your Facebook account.

This will give you total freedom from autoposting without any plugin tweaks and hacks...
