Store Locator Solution with over 9,000 Locations WordPress

I'm using simplemap plugin to serve as a store locator, but it is bogging down as there are over 9,000 store locations. Does anyone know a better solution that will work? Either as a plugin or coded solution? Basically, the user would be able to type in their city or zip and the results show the locations within a 5-10 mile radius (or it can be expanded). The results would be on a google map with pins. Thanks for any help.
