Hi,
I've been a bit frustrated with getting wp_bootstrap_navwalker to display grandchild links in the order that I want them -- it currently just orders alphabetically.
I currently have a custom navwalker that creates a megamenu where there are grandchild links.
I'd now rather organise the menu via the admin panel so that I can order them how I'd like, but I can't work out how to get the navwalker to stop automatically displaying the grandchild links.
Can anyone help?

You can change the "depth" of menu, check on your header wp_nav_menu
<?php /* Primary navigation */
wp_nav_menu( array(
'menu' => 'primary',
'depth' => 2,//Change this value to 1 and test
'container' => false,
'menu_class' => 'nav navbar-nav',
//Process nav menu using our custom nav walker
'walker' => new wp_bootstrap_navwalker())
);
?>

Hi,
I'd still like to be able to add grandchild links manually and for them to appear. I just want to be able to reorder via the admin.
Rempty comments:
I tested your code and works fine, i need to add manually the grandchilds (appearence/menus) and reorder as i want.
sebdean comments:
Hi it only shows the children on my version.
Menu structure:
Home
Services
-- Commercial
---- Electrical
---- Other
-- Residential
---- Link 1
---- Link 2
If I set the depth to 2, it just shows commercial and residential (none of the children).
Rempty comments:
Services=Parent
--Commercial= Child
----Electrical= Grandchild?
Change depth to 4
sebdean comments:
Yes but when I do that, we're back to the beginning and it will show the auto generated grandchild links along with the manually added links. I just want the manually added links.
Rempty comments:
where are autogenerating grandchild links?
Do you have a custom function?
See screenshot

sebdean comments:
Hi,
No it's just the code that's listed above. I don't get why it's autogenerating in my menu but not in yours?
Rempty comments:
Maybe you have installed this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/auto-submenu/
sebdean comments:
No, haven't installed any plugins that would be doing this. The menu works solely off the navwalker.
Rempty comments:
Try deleting your current menu, and create a new menu.
Can you attach a screenshot?
sebdean comments:
Tried deleting and creating new menu, same problem.
Screen when menu depth remains as normal:

Screen when I set menu depth to one lower:

Rempty comments:
ok, now can you explain whats is the problem?
sebdean comments:
So basically, the first screenshot is pulling the links that I've manually added to the menu via appearance->menus, but it's also automatically pulling the same links because they're children of (for example) commercial interiors.
I don't want it to automatically pull the links, I just want it to pull the links that I've manually added in the admin area. That way I can order them how I like. When it pulls them automatically it orders them alphabetically which is no good for me.
Rempty comments:
Services are categories?
Commercial Interiors is a category?
Rempty comments:
Just for test, can u add all this links as "Custom Links"
Rempty comments:
Commercial Interiors as Custom Link
and childrens Office * Electrical work, etc real links (post type, category, etc. i dont know.)
sebdean comments:
Services doesn't link to anything, it's simply a dropdown toggle.
Commercial interiors is a parent page with children underneath it (the grandchildren)
Your custom link idea worked! Thanks! Any ideas why it's been doing that?
