Recommend a WordPress Plugin to Handle Events? WordPress

Hi,
I am looking for a specific plugin that let's a user mark their Post as an "<strong>Event</strong>" and basically set a <strong>date</strong> for that Event on the Post page. Once that is done, the post gets published as a normal post would be onto the site. The main part is that I would like the Events to show up on the Sidebar as a list like [[LINK href="http://mirzar.com/ember/wp-events.png"]]this screenshot[[/LINK]]. Also as shown on the screenshot, I would like the reader to be able to toggle through months by clicking the left/right arrow.
I know there are tons of wordpress Events/Calendar Plugins out there but I could not find anything that exactly fits my needs. Also I would like to display the Events list on the sidebar but I am not using a Dynamic Sidebar so it would be cool if there were some PHP code I could just paste into sidebar.php to display the events.

That's the one I am using now. But it does not seem to have an option to filter by month. See site here - http://bit.ly/ioblog

It can easily be customized to be displayed in your sidebar and in the regular WP posts list.

See in the demo where it says Upcoming events, thats exactly what I want. But I also need to be able to Filter by month as shown in the screenshot. So i could switch months under neath upcoming events

Try changing the month of the calendar above the Upcoming events and you'll see that the events will also change based on the selected moth.

Yeah I get that. I basically just need that functionality on the Upcoming Events list somehow. I tried editing the plugin but with no luck. Any clue on how that can be achieved?
