Need help with WP theme - various ammendments WordPress

Hi there
I need some help making ammendments to a site that I have designed.
The website address is rebeccanewport.com
1) I would like to get rid of category links on homepage and blurb on homepage
2) I would like to set the height at a specific height for each page rather than letting the size of the content decide as my contact page looks a bit funny!
3) I want to use my own banner and I have added the url for the header.jpg image I have uploaded into the style sheet ( /* <-- add url to background image between these parentheses */) but its still not showing up. The image url is http://rebeccanewport.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/header.jpg Also need to know how to change this in the future.
4) In the portfolio page I would like to specify which images are used to display each category and I would like to be able to order all the images.
I would prefer it if someone could do this for me.

For your 3rd problem, you used absolute path whereas relative path was needed. Moreover you added the url outside the url() field whereas its supposed to be inside it. Use this line for your header image:
background-image: url(../../uploads/2010/08/header.jpg);

for #2, you can set a min-height: 500px. Add this to style.css line #2
.container {
-moz-border-radius:10px 10px 10px 10px;
margin:0 auto;
min-height:500px;
padding:0;
text-align:center;
width:960px;
}
You're also going to have to put the <div class="footer"> outside <div class="container">. I can help you with the rest. Send me a message if you need a hand.
