Folks,
I have a client who would like to sell school/team apparel to specific group.
When the team player or coach comes to the site they enter a code (created by client and given to coach) which will take them to their school/team page and they can purchase any of the apparel (t-shirt, sweatshirts, shorts etc..). this page/post is not visible to public.
Here is an example: http://team-shop.lidsteamsports.com/
I would like to know how to make this happen, which theme/platform I should use and which plugin(s) and ecommerce (shopping cart) solution I should use.
I have membership to Elegant Themes and StudioPress.
Keep in mind the client will go in and upload each apparel photo, so it needs to be kept easy.
Hope someone can suggest. Any examples are welcome.
Thanks

It sounds to me like you should be creating a membership site. I purchased wishlist memebr throught this link that was emailed to me. http://member.wishlistproducts.com/wlp.php?af=1283680 It's an affilaite link for someone but I am sure you could go direct if you searched a bit. I bought through the link and it's a great plugin.
It is well supported and lots of training, they have multilple site licenses ans also single site licenses.
There are alos free plugins that will do membership sites, but this one was recomended to me and it excellent.
They also have multi levels etc, so it sounds like you can set up pages through it for different schools and each login or level would have the sales page you want them to go to.
I am assuming here that every person will go to a different sales page?
I'd look at this and then compare it to other options. I think it may be easier than custom coding, but that si also an option.
I would also look at free membership plugins, but I can't help you there.I have been very happy with wishlist.

If you are looking to do it all on WordPress including the eCommerce, you may also want to consider using Shopp (http://shopplugin.net), which integrates well with Genesis and the SP themes in my experience. Furthermore, Shopp handles variations (XS,S,M,L,XL,XXL) very well with the ability to add additional costs for XXXL, etc.
Among the eCommerce plugins, it seems like this one gets the least amount of bad press. Plus, if you are used to hooks (say from SP) then Shopp has a lot of hooks and ability to create custom templates. So using it can easily convert any theme (including StudioPress) into an eCommerce theme.
Thanks,
Travis

it does not need to be in wordpress, it can be in any other platform. Which one will work best.
You can see one example here, I think she is using WP.

Hello Tapna,
No that (http://www.imageserenity.com/clients/proofing/) isn't WordPress though her blog is on WordPress.
Thanks,
