  • SOLVED

I have an intranet designed with WordPress multisite. I need to have statistics but I can not use Google Analitics (Intranet). There is no link between this intranet and internet. What solution can I use? Is there a plugin that would work with an intranet, WordPress and multisite?

Ideally I'd like these statistics to show "exit pages". (what is exit pages : https://www.webanalyticsworld.net/2012/08/top-exit-page-analysis.html)

There are other alternatives like not use plugins and install a software in the local server like
https://matomo.org/intranet-analytics/
Support multi site an include a wp plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-piwik/

It seems to me that he does not display exit pages. Do you confirm?

There are a few "internal" statistics plugins such as WP Power Stats (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-power-stats/) - search the plugins repo and they will pop up (read the info closely - some will just be wrappers for Google Analytics).

An alternative is to run your Apache (I assume that's what your web server is) log files through one of the many log analytics tools. There are free ones and premium ones.

The data might not be quite as comprehensive as Google's (you won't get the in-page event logging), but will certainly give you the numbers/times/page views etc that most people are happy with.

Good afternoon,

Maybe you can use a solution like this: https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-statistics/

This does not send any data out of your web, so all will keep there and you don't need to get connect to the Internet.

WP Power Stats (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-power-stats/) is another solution but yes, WP Statistics is much better.

Since "privacy" problems I have tested it sometimes and this is great.

yes I know this plugin (wp statistics). This is the one I use. However, it does not display the output pages.

At Wordpress level:
See https://clicky.com/ . Works on Intranet.
Demo here: https://clicky.com/stats/?site_id=32020

Or https://www.woopra.com/

At server level:
AwStats - Free and complete
https://awstats.sourceforge.io/

Setup here depending on your environment:
https://awstats.sourceforge.io/docs/awstats_setup.html

But Piwik on-premise is your best bet, you can have access to the whole range of data. See https://matomo.org/what-is-on-premise/
https://matomo.org/hosting/

Another open-source al server level is: http://www.openwebanalytics.com/
WP plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/open-web-analytics-plugin/

Install notes here: https://github.com/padams/Open-Web-Analytics

Good luck, and remember that here is no easy or fast workaround for this kind of implementation. It really depends on what your analytics report needs are.

Sébastien | French WordpressDesigner comments:

thanks
which plugins are free in your list please ? It seems that matomo and piwik are not free, are they ?

MDan comments:

Matomo is the same thing as Piwik, but they change the name of the service.

I have already stated above:
All of them are free or open-source, but in general the free versions are available to be installed on your premise, which means they need to be installed on the server your intranet website is installed.

1.Awstats: https://awstats.sourceforge.io/
2. Matomo
https://matomo.org/what-is-on-premise/
Follow the link above, is a comparison of the free (hosted) vs cloud versions.
They also have a free WP plugin you can link to their service.
3. http://www.openwebanalytics.com/
WP plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/open-web-analytics-plugin/

The https://clicky.com/ solution can be installed as a plugin but is limited in free version. Check on their website (demo link above) if it's enough for your needs.

Thank you,
Daniel
