How to import a wp_posts.sql file WordPress

(10909, 3, '2013-08-21 10:41:55', '2013-08-21 10:41:55', '<a href="http://coachbarrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/gone-fishing.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10910" alt="gone fishing" src="http://coachbarrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/gone-fishing.jpg" width="225" height="225" /></a>My first observation today is to report two situations that occurred in the last few days and give you my thoughts:\r\n\r\nA dental receptionist refuses to attend one of our Saturday TCO training courses (at her Employer''s expense) because she has a Saturday "hobby".\r\n\r\nA nurse who we thought wanted to become the practice "social media champion" tells her Principal that she will read a book I have recommended "provided he babysits her child while she reads it"\r\n\r\nIn both cases we are talking about nicely done mixed practices, with decent pay and surroundings, not some Death Star Dental Corporate where minimum wages and systems apply.\r\n\r\nMy thoughts are that both of these young ladies have just delivered what I describe as a verbal "suicide note" on their careers.\r\n\r\nI pause and ask myself whether my increasingly intolerant attitude towards off-brand employees and clinicians is a sign of old age?\r\n\r\nOr a response to harsh economic reality - that the business of dentistry is tougher in 2013 than at any time in the last 20 years - and that folks need to be glad they have a job at all?\r\n\r\nProvided pay and conditions are fair - it doesn''t seem unreasonable to ask team members to demonstrate that "indispensability" that Seth Godin talks about in his book "Linchpin".\r\n<blockquote>“The job is what you do when you are told what to do. The job is showing up at the factory, following instructions, meeting spec, and being managed.\r\n\r\nSomeone can always do your job a little better or faster or cheaper than you can.\r\n\r\nThe job might be difficult, it might require skill, but it''s a job.\r\n\r\nYour art is what you do when no one can tell you exactly how to do it. Your art is the act of taking personal responsibility, challenging the status quo, and changing people.\r\n\r\nI call the process of doing your art ''the work.'' In fact, that''s how you become a linchpin.\r\n\r\nThe job is not the work.”</blockquote>\r\nOn a more positive note - a shout out for the team(s) at Dental Excellence in Northern Ireland, who welcomed me to their Portadown and Derry practices yesterday for team training sessions.\r\n\r\nWe talked about the "state of the nation" as far as dentistry is concerned.\r\n\r\nThe rise of corporates and retailers.\r\n\r\nThe most popular products.\r\n\r\nThe best patient types.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the ATTITUDE to be demonstrated by all team members towards patients.\r\n\r\nWe agreed that successful dental business is 98% understanding people and 2% clinical skill.\r\n\r\nThat you have to have 100% of the 2%.\r\n\r\nBut that its the 98% "knowing what makes people tick" that will ensure prosperity in an increasingly competitive market.\r\n\r\nI thank everyone at "DE" for their attitude towards me yesterday. (10905, 2, '2013-08-19 13:00:11', '2013-08-19 13:00:11', '<h2>The Perfect Imperfectionist</h2>\r\n<strong>11 Steps To The Best Version Of Yourself</strong>\r\n\r\nI want to share with you some thoughts and ideas that I published at the end of one year recently for 11 days, as a way to end the old year and begin the new.\r\n\r\nThe concept of this short series of blog posts arose from a conversation I had in Liverpool with Brendon and Marita Macdonald, who suggested a ‘Christmas series’ for the sad people (like myself ) who cannot resist checking the internet daily, even during a holiday season.\r\n\r\nWhat I wanted to avoid, however, was yet another to do list of resolutions.\r\n\r\nI was aware that at this time of year everyone is bombarded with ezines, blog posts, tweets, status updates and vlogs that will ask you to make some sort of resolution...\r\n\r\n<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-149" alt="The Perfect Perfectionist" src="http://184.173.197.210/~swo/coachbarrow.com/wp-content/themes/dynamik/css/images/perfect-imperfectionist-home.jpg" />\r\n<ul>\r\n <li>to become smarter at life: ?</li>\r\n <li>get your cash flow sorted ?</li>\r\n <li>pay off those debts ?</li>\r\n <li>go on a diet ?</li>\r\n <li>stop eating that crap ?</li>\r\n <li>drink less alcohol ?</li>\r\n <li>start some exercise ?</li>\r\n <li>end or begin a relationship(s) ?</li>\r\n <li>listen more ?</li>\r\n <li>speak more ?</li>\r\n <li>upgrade your web site ?</li>\r\n <li>adopt a new brand ?</li>\r\n <li>raise your prices ?</li>\r\n <li>improve your leadership skills ?</li>\r\n <li>build your managers ?</li>\r\n <li>set goals ?</li>\r\n <li>set targets ?</li>\r\n <li>set boundaries ?</li>\r\n <li>remove tolerations ?</li>\r\n <li>tidy up ?</li>\r\n <li>be nicer!</li>\r\n</ul>\r\nTo summarise - stop being the less confident ‘you’ and start being the allsinging, all-dancing, shiny new ‘you’.\r\n\r\nAnd, of course, there is a book, video, 12-step programme, form to fill in, on-line check in - for all of these worthy pursuits. In fact, you could spend all year just getting coached and never go to work.\r\n\r\nAll of this advice is rather like laser tooth whitening: It takes you up a few shades for a while - the shiny new look - and then quickly fades back to something like the original, sometimes with ‘zingers’ along the way.\r\n\r\nI personally have resolved to carry on being “me” in 2011.\r\n\r\nYou see, I’m pretty good already (well, most of the time). I see several posts there.

One titled "'Suicide notes, enthusiasm and disconnections" and the second titled "'The Perfect Imperfectionist". There are a few others as well, some blank, some very small "Thank you" note pages.

There are a couple things you could do.

You could copy/paste those into your new blog. Just copy the "content" part into the content of new posts, set the dates, authors and whatnot to match what they should be in the new environment. The Content is the stuff after the dates on the lines that start with '(1090.....' and continues until the closing single quote followed by a title, and usually 'inherit'...

You could just change the id#'s to something that isn't in your new blog. That would be the '10909' like numbers right after the opening parentheses. You could try changing every occurance of '1090' to '21090' in that file and then import, that would most likely work.

As others have noted, you don't have the matching "wp_postmeta" table data in that SQL. So any meta data ("custom fields") for those posts is not included. If you just import wp_posts, you should still see the posts, I think. If you create the two large posts and just paste the content and titles in, then the blank/default wp_postmeta data will definitely be created.
