If the wp-config trick doesn't work: Did you check your WordPress files in your hosting to see if the index.php file has been changed? Or if an index.html was added that overwrites index.php? Can you access your wp-admin? Did you try changing the theme to another one to see if that is causing the issue?

Are you using a Cache Plugin ?? or did you activated gzip encoding on your Cpanel ??

This is really strange, it seems to be a problem with your files more than a problem in your database. What about uploading entire WordPress core? Remember to save wp-content folder and wp-config.php.
