Good day guys.
My rss feeds have gotten wacked out.
I was using 2 add ons that I have made changed and since deleted them all together.
First was Better WP security I wanted to lock down the site a little bit more and at the same time I made a few changed in W3 total cache. everything worked fine minus' the RSS feeds I was getting errors missing first line and saying not the right format something along those lines. I went a head and Uninstalled better WP security then tried still same thing. I then whet ahead and deleted w3 total cache including the extra files for it. After i did this the data within the validation text all went away.
At this point I am stuck on what to do
Information
1. w3 total cache
2. Better WP security
blog: http://www.lifewithtech.net
feed: http://www.lifewithtech.net/feed
Current Feedvalidator output:
===============================
Sorry
This feed does not validate.
line 1, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:2:0: no element found [help]
In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.
Feeds should not be served with the "text/html" media type [help]

MDan answers:
1. Try empty the site's cache first and the browser's cache as well.
2.Under the tab of your W3 Total Cache in wordpress back-end: Performance/Pache Cache uncheck the box called: <em>Cache feeds: site, categories, tags, comments</em> and save changes.
Tell me if it worked
Thanks,
Daniel

daniel I have tried tried that many time before and like stated I have deleated the plugin all togeather.
But just to be on the same page I am installting and will test again and get back in few min's
MDan comments:
You can also try to uncheck this boxes under the Browser Cache tab/Html
<em>Specify browser cache policy for posts, pages, feeds and text-based files.</em>
Uncheck: <em>Set expires header </em>,<em> Set cache control heade</em>,<em>Set entity tag (eTag) </em>,<em>Set W3 Total Cache header </em>,<em>Enable HTTP (gzip) compression </em>. Save changes.
Don't forget to empty the plugin's cache after that, and your browser's cache also!
Hope this will help you,i'm running out of ideas.
Thomas Fraley comments:
Yha I pretty much did all that but will run though it again just in case
Thomas Fraley comments:
Ok I installed W3 again emptied all caches made changes accordingly you suggested and cleared caches between each one.
Ok now it seems like a new issue
Feed validator comes up saying...
Server returned timed out [help]
Sorry
An error occurred while trying to validate this feed.
Possible causes:
The address may be incorrect. Make sure the address is spelled correctly. Try loading the feed directly in your browser to make sure a feed exists at that address.
The feed may be temporarily unavailable. The server may be down, or too slow. Try again later.
The validator may be busted. If the feed exists, the server is fine, and the problem is reproducible, let us know on the feedvalidator-users mailing list.

Looks like your server is fine.
Maybe this will help you: [[LINK href="http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2Flifewithtech#l1"]][[/LINK]]

Nice site.
Yha blog is working fine just the feeds that are jacked.
your page lists feed as avaliable
but says it contains invalid XML
Denzel Chia answers:
Hi,
Try removing your feed from feed burner.
Check that your WordPress Feed is working, before reassigning it to feed burner.
Most probably, the feed burner setup may be mess up by your cache plugin.
Thanks.
Denzel

good day denzel.
Ok I deleated my feed from feed Burner
I cleared all caches in W3
Validator is still kicking out the same new error like i posted above "server returned timed out"
if i go directly to the http://www.lifewithtech.net/feed/
There is text there now
XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://www.lifewithtech.net/feed/
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Hi,
I am still seeing redirection to feed burner http://feeds.feedburner.com/lifewithtech
perhaps you got a plugin that setup feed burner or a theme setting that setup feed burner.
If so, you should disable the plugin or empty the feed burner setting.
Then reset everything again.
http://www.lifewithtech.net/feed/ still auto redirects to http://feeds.feedburner.com/lifewithtech
Thanks.
Denzel

I do have a thme that swaps out links. But i have removed that. Looking through addons. Don't remember having one that worked with feedburner
Denzel Chia comments:
Hi,
I just checkout the arthemia-premium theme and seems like there is a theme setting or widget that lets you set the social media buttons. The feed button on these social media buttons are actually auto set to feed burner.
If you still cannot get your feed working,
And If you would like me to go into your admin and theme to take a look,
Please send your ftp credentials and wordpress login access to [email protected].
I can take a look for you and try to troubleshoot it.
Thanks.
Denzel

Hi,
Sorry I could not fix it.
Could be your WordPress core feed template gets corrupted, or any function within plugin or theme that is replacing this template gets corrupted.
Could be any html error in your latest post.
Anyway I managed to get your default wordpress feed to load, but there is errors,
Please see attached screenshot.
Sorry, I could not fix your issue.
Thanks.
Denzel.
