Fix redirect issue with Register-Plus-Redux WordPress

  • SOLVED

The person who created Register-Plus-Redux is no longer working on the project and it's been pulled from the WordPress plugin site. Unfortunately, I'm using it for invitation codes and need to for the next 60 days while we transition customers..

The problem I'm having is I need it to auto log-in users after they register and then redirect to wherever I specify in the plugin settings page. Any help would be appreciated.

Gabriel Reguly answers:

Hi Zach,

Are you using a multisite version of WordPress?

Regards,
Gabriel

Zach Shallbetter comments:

Nope just a regular install.

Gabriel Reguly comments:

Hi Zach,

Redirect is working fine for me with WordPress 3.2.1, the only issue is that the user must login.

Is it what you want to fix?

Regards,
Gabriel

Zach Shallbetter comments:

Exactly, I'd like for it to accept the user's entered password and then log them in automatically.

Gabriel Reguly comments:

Ok, I think I can code a good solution for it.

Please bear with me.

Zach Shallbetter comments:

Totally, just let me know if I need to update the db or anything.

Gabriel Reguly comments:

No, you will not need to update the db.

I am thinking of a new page wich will do the automatic log-in and then redirect to the page you want.

Would that be a good solution for you?

Zach Shallbetter comments:

Doesn't matter as long as it smoothly redirects the user to the page that I specify in the Registration Redirect field.

Gabriel Reguly comments:

Hi,

I have changed my mind and did some changes to the plugin itself.

Also renamed it so a new version will not erase the changes.

Please find the new version [[LINK href="http://gabriel.ppgr.com.br/wp-content/plugins/register-plus-redux-auto-login.zip"]]here[[/LINK]]

Seems the plugin is still being developed, so I contacted the author to notify about the changes.

There is a new option to be enabled: Registration Redirect With Auto Login

Please see attached image.

Hopefully this is exactly what you wanted.

Gabriel
