Edit Archive.php to work with plugin WordPress

I am using Swift Idea's [[LINK href="http://themeforest.net/item/cardinal-wordpress-theme/8070889"]]Cardinal[[/LINK]] theme.
I need to use D&C's [[LINK href="http://www.designsandcode.com/wordpress-plugins/search-filter-pro/"]]Search & Filter Pro[[/LINK]] (S&FP).
On most themes, as shown in the top widget on my Twenty Fifteen [[LINK href="http://searchfilter.wpengine.com/"]]Demo Site[[/LINK]], S&FP works fine however, on the top widget of Cardinal [[LINK href="http://searchfilter.staging.wpengine.com/"]]Demo site [[/LINK]], it does not. This happens as soon as Cardinal is activated.
The issue is that Cardinal uses a custom WP_Query in archive.php file at /cardinal/swift-framework/layout/ that prevents using Search & Filter Pro from working properly, as shown here, without modification.
I need someone to reference [[LINK href="http://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/getting-started/"]]S&FP's documentation[[/LINK]] and modify Cardinal's archive.php (preferably in the Child Theme) to work accordingly.
