Customize gallery page in wordpress theme WordPress

I am trying to customize the three column gallery page using the DK photography theme seen here: http://themeforest.net/item/dk-for-photography-creative-portfolio/631383

I want to achieve the following:

- remove the current hover animation and/or make it so that another picture appears when hovering. Similar to: http://youbroketheinternet.tumblr.com/ only allowing a picture to appear instead of the text when hovering

- have the individual thumbnail frames adjust so that they are scaled to height of each picture.

- Clicking on the photo will link to an external URL.

Have you considered using [[LINK href="http://fthrwght.com/autofocus/prodemo/"]]autofocuspro[[/LINK]]?

It has a few variations, many, and most if not all provide the functionality you're after.
