Custom Theme Functionality WordPress

I need customization for my custom wordpress theme.

I have a portfolio section that is currently only page. I want users to be able to set up multiple portfolio pages. In the backend, I have an admin panel that asks them to select which category is their portfolio category and asks them how many items they'd like to display. The portfolio items are post items that are then pulled from that category.

Also, there are 3 custom write panels on the post pages. 1 for the image thumbnail, 1 for the full size image, and 1 for the descriptive text that shows up in the pop-up box.

This will require mods to the admin back-end as well as my page template.
