BuddyPress Profile Menu customisations WordPress

Hi -
I'm looking for help customising the standard BuddyPress Profile menu options - to move items from Top Level to Sub-Navigation, to delete some unwanted items, to rename others. Particularly, we need help moving some top level BuddyPress items (i.e. "Messages") to sub-level menu.
