Best comment spam plugin WordPress
Hi Guys
Akismet does not seem to be doing much to stop my comment spam.
Any suggestions to a more powerful solution please?

Try [[LINK href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/antispam-bee/"]]AntiSpam Bee[[/LINK]] It surpasses even Akismet as far as managing comment spam is concerned. 0 Spam encountered ever since I started using it.

Err I mean It has never let any Spam comment pass through. Caught all with no false positives.

Also closing comments after a certain period greatly reduces the spam you will encounter. Also turn off trackbacks/pingbacks as well.

Akismet is the best one but it should learn. This is based in Bayesian nets, and you have to teach it firstly what is spam and what is not spam.
If you are using Akismet without a premium key it also fails when there are lots of comments to be reviewed.

I use GASP (Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin), you can get it for free here http://wordpress.org/plugins/growmap-anti-spambot-plugin/ But I personally have the premium version of Commentluv which has this plugin integrated. Since using it my main blog went from 50 spam comments a day to 2 or 3, maybe, if any at all.
