Allow Transparency on site logo? WordPress

Is there any way for me to allow [[LINK href=""]]this site logo[[/LINK]] to have a transparent background on [[LINK href=""]][[/LINK]]?

It displays a white background when I try to use a .png image with transparency. (The current logo being used is a .jpg with black background)

This is what my styles.css says:

/* GLOBAL: #Header
================================================== */
#header { padding-top:50px; }
#logo a:hover { border:none; }
#navigation { position:absolute; top:45px; right:0; }
.section-title { padding:12px 20px 15px 20px; margin:20px 10px 20px 10px; }

I think you have problem in that transparent .png file. Else it should work.
Is it a problem in IE ? or in all browsers?
