I have a multi-site install and a theme that includes a modal pop-up, with options to share the Post to Social Media.
Unfortunately when a visitor clicks on the Facebook Share link it includes unwanted information in the excerpt. For example:
'Share this postPermalinkShare this posttumblrgooglelinkedintechnoratitwitterfacebook...0The Post TitleadminApril 25, 2014 [then the posts excerpt]'
Any help gratefully accepted.

You got this <strong>"Open Graph Warnings That Should Be Fixed":</strong>
Inferred Property The 'og:description' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
In your case, you got two instances of:
<!-- <meta name="description" content="..."/>-->
i.e. both are commented out, and that's the reason why Facebook is <strong>guessing</strong> what the og:description' property should be.
Fix this and wait for about 24 hours for the Facebook cache to clear. You can also clear the cache for each page [[LINK href="https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/"]]here[[/LINK]].

Many Thanks DBranes,
On your advice I installed the 'Facebook Open-graph-protocol' plugin which has added the necessary meta tags for Facebook and fixed the problem.
Cheers

You can add custom excerpt to posts to avoid that from happening. Also can you share the site url?
