Install screen after site transfer WordPress

  • SOLVED

Hi Guys

I've just installed a Wordpress site at hostgator that i transferred from 1and1.co.uk

I imported the database adn all the tables are there.

I uploaded the wp-content.php folder

I edited the wp-config.php file with the new db details

However when i do to veiw the site I am getting the install screen

http://www.yogaliving.co.uk/wp-admin/install.php

Which I should not see as i have already installed everything

I have checked my .htaccess file which looks ok

Any tips on what i've done wrong or missed?

thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

Check wp-config.php once again. Make sure all the details are correct with new server

I think something not proper in your new configuration.check database name, username, password and table prefix in wp-config.php

Hariprasad Vijayan comments:

Check table prefix in your old database. I think its wrong in your new configuration.

Thanks Hariprasad!

Please do one thing. Delete the wp-config file. And use the installer to add the database name, username and password. It will create the config file for you but you won't need to do complete steps again. It will tell you you already have wordpress installed and thats all :)

Fahad Murtaza comments:

and sometimes its just misspelled wp-config.php in the name or in the extension. Thats how it can't find the file. If its spelled correctly, it will give a database error if database settings are incorrect.

Currently it says you are missing the wp-config.php file.
Keep a backup and go setting up with the new database name and its details. Make sure you provided already imported database, so it wont setup the WP again rather it will simply create the wp-config file again.

I am pretty sure that you didn't entered your database information in correct wp-config.php file . Please recheck the location of your installation and wp-config.php file database information.

Look on the button of the wp-config and check if the target URL is not changed.
