Custom post types WordPress

  • SOLVED

Hi Guys

I've just installed a plugin called Custom Post Type Maker and created a custom post type called "Services" but I don't know how to register it properly

The services I create show up as page not found.

here's a quick 20 second video so you can see what i've done.

Can you help please?

Navjot Singh answers:

Save the permalinks again.

Steve Watson comments:

thanks that worked. So I did not need to register the post type because the plugin did it automatically, is that correct?

Navjot Singh comments:

Nope. They have been registered by the plugin already. Though deactivating the plugin might make them disappear again.

I still have a problem

that just goes to the home page. I would like it to do to an archive style page like this one

http://nick-humphries.com/?post_type=event

What am I missing?

Navjot Singh comments:

I see you already have a page named services. That is conflicting with the post type services. Rename any one of 1 them to fix it.

i thin you have set your pemalink settings to default , change it to post

Steve Watson comments:

ah yes just saving the permalinks again fixed it.

Does that mean the Custom Post Type Maker plugin actually registered the post type too without me having to do anything?

Arnav Joy comments:

yes
