Is there a working plugin for Twitter?

  • SOLVED

On [[LINK href="http://codewi.se/"]]Codewi.se[[/LINK]], we had been using the Twitter Tools plugin:

[[LINK href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twitter-tools/"]]http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twitter-tools/[[/LINK]]

Twitter changed its login (which broke WP Questions ability to update Twitter, too).

Sad to say, I am busy at work this week, so I can not devote any time to WP Questions. I hope to fix things on the weekend, when I learn more.

As to the blog on Codewi.se, I'm wondering, are there any plugins that work right now? Anything that's been updated to work with Twitter's new rules for login?

This one may work: [[LINK href="http://www.webmaster-source.com/2009/05/13/tweetable-twitter-plugin-for-wordpress/"]]http://www.webmaster-source.com/2009/05/13/tweetable-twitter-plugin-for-wordpress/[[/LINK]]

Edit: just tested it and it does work. Great, actually.

Don't know about any working wordpress -> twitter plugins, but [[LINK href="http://twitterfeed.com/"]]this service[[/LINK]] might help you.

Still, getting your twitter updates to your blog shouldn't be the problem, ye?

It's getting the blog posts to Twitter. That is the issue.

I understood that.
That's why I offered you to use twitterfeed service ;)

Twitter Tools does work. I have been using the updated version on a couple of my sites.

I have semi-guideline I posted up on how to set it up. This was when the new update started.

If you need help, give me a holler and I can help you set up the API for your Twitter Tools.

I use twitterfeed.com. No need for plugin.
Twitter is changing their auth-systemt soon. I think most twitter plugin will stop work for a while then..

Hi,

Twitter Tools had been upgraded to work with OAuth.
It is the Twitter API that is experiencing problems.

iPhone apps such as Twitterrific had also experience problems working with the Twitter API,
Twitterrific 3.0.1 is using OAuth.

You can check out the Twitter API status here. http://dev.twitter.com/status
You can read about the recent API problems here http://twitter.com/Support

My conclusion is, until Twitter sort out their API problems most Apps using it will malfunction.

For the time being, you may what to checkout simple twitter connect by otto, an employee of Automattic. This plugin supports auto-tweet new post to Twitter.

Thanks.
